Region on the Rise:
A Construction and Real Estate Development Forum

Join fellow construction and real estate industry leaders to hear experts discuss the most important issues currently affecting the development and building sectors and their future in Greater Philadelphia. Region on the Rise will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Presented in partnership with the General Building Contractors Association, the event will feature a keynote address, two informative panel discussions, Q & A sessions, exhibiting, and networking opportunities.

Featured speaker, The Honorable James P. Creedon, Secretary, Department of General Services, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, will discuss the Commonwealth's allocation of federal funds from the economic recovery bill, including streamlining the contracting process to ignite the flow of money to highway and bridge projects. Real estate and construction executives and regional leaders will be a part of two panel discussions on infrastructure and minority-owned business opportunities.

The first panel, "Horizontal Construction Leads to Vertical Construction," will be moderated by Inga Saffron, Architecture Critic, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and includes Christopher Holliday, Vice President, STV Incorporated; Jeffrey D. Knueppel, Chief Engineer, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA); Paul K. Marchetti, Executive Director, Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST); and Barry Seymour, Executive Director, Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission.

The second panel, "Cultivating Diversity in the Construction Industry," will be moderated by Walter P. Palmer, 3rd, President and CEO, GBCA; Michael Bell, Executive Director, City of Philadelphia's Office of Economic Opportunity; Angelo Perryman, President, Perryman Building and Construction, Inc.; Judith Ritter, President, Ritter Contracting, Inc.; and Carl E. Singley, Chairman, Mayor's Advisory Commission on Construction Industry Diversity.
