PR & Marketing: High Profile on a Low Budget

Join us for the third and last installment of the Owners Only series, which will focus on public relations and marketing for small business owners. Prior attendance is not necessary.

PR & Marketing: High Profile on a Low Budget will take place on Wednesday, May 6 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Chamber’s offices in Center City Philadelphia.

Experts from Bellevue Communications Group will offer advice on marketing strategies, taking advantage of new media opportunities, and raising the brand awareness of your company through various outlets — even on a tight budget.

Kevin Feeley, President, Susan Buehler, Senior Vice President, and Mustafa Rashed, Vice President of Media & Brand Strategy will discuss:

  • How to tell your story to the media
  • Press release fundamentals — including a sample template, directions for getting started, and story development
  • Finding opportunities — from sponsorships and banner ads to non-traditional advertising and social media outreach
  • Creating a communications plan

There will be time for you to ask questions on media plans and training, crisis communications, blogs and podcasts, and what to do when the media show up at your door. In addition, Bellevue Communications will raffle off four Diamond Club tickets to a Phillies game behind home plate.

Bellevue Communications Group is a full service public relations firm specializing in media relations, strategic planning, crisis communications, government and grassroots communications. Founded in 2000, it boasts an array of clients including corporate, nonprofit, small business and government agencies.

Owners Only is a three-part series of educational, interactive, networking programs geared exclusively to owners and top management of small businesses. Designed to keep pace with the ever changing business environment, the programs explore issues central to running a small business — from day–to–day operations to continued growth and development challenges. Recent programs focused on business financing and human resources.

The series is designed to provide plenty of time for exchanging ideas and exclusive networking with one another in a non–selling environment. Small business owners are among their peers as they learn, develop and share best practices.

Recent attendee Pam Hackett, co–founder, Pediatric Therapeutic Services, Inc. and 2009 GPCC Excellence Award winner, has found the series helpful for her business.

"Owning a small business can be isolating at times. This series has been great for networking, sharing solutions and contacts, and learning how to better manage my company and my life as an entrepreneur. The training helped me recognize my organization’s strengths and weaknesses and provided clear direction on the next steps," she said.
