The Spirit of Giving

Young professionals brought their spirit of holiday giving to the recent YPN event, held at Chickie’s & Pete’s in South Philly, on December 10th. During the event, which included an inspirational speech by owner and entrepreneur, Pete Ciarrocchi, YPN collected 60 toys and $400 in donations, passing last years collection of 36 toys.

The toy drive is a donation program for McClure Elementary School. YPN began its relationship with McClure Elementary School through Greater Philadelphia Cares Day and has now adopted the school as its primary volunteer opportunity. Since then, it has conducted a book and toy drive for the school, sent two former YPN chairs to serve as principal for a day, helped out with a Career and Education Day and hosted two end of the year field days for students with perfect attendance

The YPN event at Chickie’s & Pete’s was presented in partnership with the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation, ModSpace, Saint Joseph’s University and TD Bank.
